A Paralegal is needed to support the Data Protection Team of our client in the Tech industry.
As a paralegal, you’ll carry out certain legal tasks and services, such as undertaking legal research, preparing legal documents and giving legal advice
Key Responsibilities:
- Review of contracts to ensure data protection elements are fit for purpose.
- Completing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) under the supervision of the Data Protection Team and managing the database of (DPIAs).
- Responding to standard internal requests for legal advice.
- Building a Knowledge base of data protection queries.
- Update of the contract management system to reflect the status of reviews carried out by the Data Protection Team; ensuring all supporting documentation has been appropriately completed.
- Acting as the point of contact for the business when they are seeking advice from the Data Protection Team.
- Responsible for ensuring that all ICO Registrations are made on a timely basis under the supervision of the Data Protection Officer.
- Providing administrative support for review and investigation of data protection incidents.
- Minute the Information Governance Board and US Exec Board including preparation of papers and slide pack under the supervision of the Data Protection Officer.
- Monitoring work in progress and KPI performance for the team.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience in a similar role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple tasks or caseloads
- Good attention to detail to be able to carefully analyse files and data
- Legal research skills and the desire to develop your understanding of the law
- Time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Office administrative skills for tasks such as filing, typing and letter writing
- Good teamwork skills particularly when working with other departments to complete your tasks
