Our client is a technology leader in the evolving smart grid offering Load Shifting, Demand Response and Frequency Response services. The smart grid is the next-generation electricity network. Its aim is to utilise any possible electricity producing or consuming resource connected to the grid, from small residential to large industrial loads, to ensure the security of supply in a changing energy landscape and to maximise value to the public. This challenging vision requires new technologies to be developed, in particular control and IT technology.

To maintain their market leadership, they are strengthening their technical team.

What are we looking for:

  • Installation of company’s electrical metering, control hardware and software equipment.
  • Electrical craft certificate with a minimum of 8 years of experience
  • Commissioning of the company’s monitoring and control site system.
  • Interfacing company site-based hardware to electrical loads in a wide variety of industry types.
  • Communication with site-based engineering staff and third-party maintenance contractors whilst installing and commissioning.
  • Troubleshooting and investigating faults on current sites in the company portfolio.
  • Upgrading panels and retrofitting components as required by the company’s development team.
  • Report writing following installations.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration controls is beneficial but not essential, including Danfoss, Carel, RDM, JTL, Emerson and independent PLC controls providers such as STAR refrigeration. Training will be provided where skills gaps exist.
  • Interface effectively with customers to resolve requests and system issues.
  • Extended travel is required, >60%, mainly in Ireland but on rare occasions to the UK.

What you will have:

  • Electrical Installation and Commissioning skills essential
  • Electrical infrastructure knowledge of commercial and industrial buildings
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Strong communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative without immediate hands-on support in diverse locations in Ireland and UK
  • Organized, energetic and self-motivated
  • A level of health and safety training is desirable, although further training will be given
  • A valid full driving license
  • Own hand tools and transport are preferable but not essential.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office computer package
  • System configuration knowledge is beneficial but not essential.
  • Basic network IP configuration is beneficial but not essential.
