The role: Domestic Appliance Test Engineer

The primary role is to test consumer electronics products (including gas appliances) using a range of test equipment to determine device failure causes. The engineer will be required to perform an in-depth analysis of results and produce reports based on findings, communicating these to teams within the company. The role may on occasion require overseas travel.

This role requires working shift patterns 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00 and is based at the Quality Assurance office in Yateley.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Testing and failure analysis of domestic appliances and consumer electronic products using a range of test equipment.
  • Analytical assessment of results and production of test reports.
  • Communication with global teams to progress test projects and resolve issues.
  • Maintenance of test equipment and facilities to ensure they remain accurate and operational.
  • Work in accordance with laboratory procedures to ensure ISO17025 laboratory quality standards are maintained.
  • Development of test procedures to ensure they are kept up to date with the latest working practices and test requirements.

What we need for this role:

  • Working knowledge of MS office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in electronic, electrical or mechanical engineering or extensive relevant experience of failure analysis of domestic appliance products
  • Knowledge of plumbing, gas and electrical safety requirements in relation to domestic appliances
  • Experience of domestic appliance servicing may be beneficial
  • Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders across different levels of the organisation
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work self-sufficiently and manage own workload
  • Adaptability to work with different cultures and environments
