The Role: Senior Finance Analyst

Contract: Perm

Salary: £40,000 – £43,000

Location: UK (Remote – with computable distance to head office in Aldershot, Hampshire)

Start date: ASAP

As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will account for costs and revenues of approximately $20m a year, across several vendors, customer accounts and processes, and support business operations with financial analysis and insight at both UK&I and EMEA levels.

** Due to the nature of our client’s work the successful candidate will need to either hold or be able to obtain SC Security Clearance. For this reason, we are only able to progress with applications from British nationals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing business partner support to operational managers at multiple levels, acting as a trusted finance expert and adviser
  • Holding regular finance reviews and presenting on financial performance
  • Working with operational managers to ensure appropriate profitability of customer accounts in your area of responsibility is maintained
  • Being part of the EMEA internal “Business Intelligence” extended team – cross-departmental company community
  • Providing deep analysis of Business KPIs and presenting results to senior managers
  • Looking at non-financial metrics and business data at both UKI and European levels, trend analysis and working with other departments to understand what’s driving results and how that could impact financial performance
  • Supporting the EMEA FP&A Lead analyst on a number of European reporting tasks and processes and providing backup on reporting results up through the wider Corporation
  • Act as Finance Lead and SME on various finance and business projects as allocated by the UK&I Finance Manager, ensuring project objectives are met on time
  • Act as the deputy for the UK&I Finance Manager, providing critical and trusted support

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum part-qualified CIMA/ACCA or equivalent, with a drive to continue studies
  • Proven record of providing financial analysis and recommendations, data gathering and supporting business managers in improving the company’s performance
  • Ability to build relationships both face-to-face and remotely
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with both financial and non-financial management
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and organisational skills
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups and ability to write formulas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle to enable you to travel to our Head Office in Aldershot, Hampshire when required

Desirable skills/qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of experience in accounting/finance, some with financial analysis
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, such as the ability to write VBA/macros in MS Excel would be an advantageous
  • Experience in modern analytical tools such as Tableau or Power BI is advantageous (or the ability to pick up such tools quickly)
  • Experience in using SAP, or other ERP system
  • Experience in dealing with large amounts of data
