A Data Protection Advisor is needed by our client in the healthcare industry. Your mission will be to co-ordinate, support and advise the organisation on all aspects with regards to Data Protection strategy and compliance with the Data Protection Act (DPA) and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
As Data Protection Advisor you will need to establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Data Protection are adhered to.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Data Protection team in monitoring compliance with relevant privacy laws and data protection policies
- Training of staff (Including Consultants and Doctors)
- Providing advice on data protection impact assessments and ongoing risk assessments.
- Monitoring personal data breaches and ensuring remedial actions have been taken.
- Assisting the Data Protection Team in responding to individuals who raise concerns related to the processing of their data and the exercise of their rights under the Privacy Laws.
- Assisting the Data Protection Team in managing and investigating data breaches and ensuring appropriate remedial actions are taken.
- Reviewing and updating the Record of Processing.
- Conducting audits of personal data held and processed by the organisation and third parties.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of current UK Data Protection legislation and GDPR
- Professional approach and confidentiality in all matters
- Enthusiasm to get the job done
- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work on own initiative
