We are a leader in the evolving smart grid offering energy trading, Demand Response and Frequency Response services. The smart grid is the next-generation electricity network. It aims to utilise any possible electricity producing or consuming resource connected to the grid, from small residential to large industrial loads, to ensure a flexible and adaptive response to the changing energy landscape. This fast-paced and evolving area requires new solutions to be developed to meet the needs of the end customer and evolving energy grid.

We are seeking to hire a Project Manager who is passionate about planning, leading the execution of and delivering technology projects meeting the market and end user’s requirements.
This candidate will join the product development team and manage key development projects working with internal business stakeholders, product owners, business analysts, architects, software developers and QAs working in an agile development environment and contribute to our Smart Grid Platform Development. The candidate will use the best industry standard tools to meet changing business requirement needs and will be core to the delivery of solutions for our customers and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze requirements from internal stakeholders and external industry customers and clients to define the Technical and Business scope of projects.
- Working with development team members, translating requirements to create detailed technical and functional specifications associated with projects, and ensuring the most appropriate solution is being employed to meet business needs.
- Resource identification, sizing and planning for projects.
- Leading and guiding the team to execute a plan for successful project delivery, delegating tasks through bi-weekly development sprints, communicating and reporting progress to stakeholders on an ongoing basis, and managing and mitigating project risks as required.
- Ensuring all development and project support documentation is completed to standard and working with stakeholders in handover as part of the delivery of applications and functionality.
- Internal business-wide and external engagement during project delivery to ensure product release success, including with Product Owner, Product Manager, IT Team, Regulatory Team, Sales and Marketing Teams and external stakeholders as required.
- Contribute ideas to help ensure that appropriate standards and processes are in place and actively look for opportunities to enhance and innovate solutions and improve process efficiency within the business.
Required Experience and Skills:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience as a project manager leading and delivering key software development projects is required.
- Leading (from a project perspective) a technical team of developers and testers to deliver key software development projects
- Technical background with an understanding of software development
- Excellent organisational, planning and risk management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience managing internal and external stakeholders
- · Experience working in an Agile/Sprint environment
- Experience managing multiple parallel projects and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Strive to learn and be self-motivated with great attention to detail
What you will have:
- A qualification in Software Development, Information Technology, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or other energy-related field is highly desirable.
- Experience working with Azure DevOps is desirable
