Contract: Rolling Contract

Salary: £75k – £82k + 10% Bonus + Benefits

Our client is one of the largest electronics corporations globally and is currently looking for a Ran Expert to join their rapidly growing advertising business as an integral part of their higher technical team and technical support in the UK and Europe.

What we are looking for in you:

  • Understand LTE RAN Software products and 5G RAN Software Products at an expert level, focus is on feature/functionality
  • Lead and liaise with customer RAN technical project design teams and define the customer requirements in LTE (4G) and 5G technology.
  • Lead the creation of new and updating of existing High-Level Design, Low-Level Design, IP plans, Test Case Documentation, processes, and procedures for LTE and 5G RAN Elements
  • Prepare new Acceptance Testing processes and procedures from RAN Element’s point of view using own knowledge/experience and information provision from higher design/support teams
  • Lead the Support and execution of the Acceptance Testing phase(s).
  • Provide support during Rollout of Software updates or implementation of features/functionality and attend technical discussions on deployment topics and issues
  • Support customer interfaces/periodic forums regarding the current and future RAN technologies

Key Objectives:

  • To provide expert-level knowledge and experience to support our client’s networks solutions to customers
  • Ensure the fulfilment of SW, HW and feature delivery (Design, Test, FOA) as required for customers.
  • Ensure the support for RAN deployment contract(s) delivery as required
  • Provide expert support for Trials and Demos

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Design

  • Review and be aware of the required 4G/LTE and 5G features available within our client’s software according to customer roadmap/requirements
  • Create new and update existing high Level and low-level designs (with R&D support) for supported network element
  • Review cycle management with the customer to achieve design acceptance for key project milestones.

Customer Acceptance

  • Provide input for acceptance scope
  • Lead the creation of acceptance Test Plans with R&D for the supported network element
  • Troubleshoot during the error and malfunction investigation to find the resolution and produce root cause analysis reports
  • Review/sign-off process for acceptance test cases
  • Work to achieve close co-operation and support liaison with our client’s higher technical teams

Accountabilities:

Soft Skills

  • Excellent understanding of the acceptance and support phase with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Know how on corresponding Telecom Equipment
  • Willingness for fast self-training on equipment, support tools/applications and understanding of our client’s implementation of features or functions
  • Ability to deliver final proposal documents to a high standard within tight timescales.
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude
  • Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision

Hard Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Product Support
  • Excellent knowledge in Troubleshooting and Test case planning and execution for other Mobile vendors
  • Educated to Degree Level, preferably in Telecoms, Electronics or Computer Science or equivalent vocational qualification/experience
  • 3gpp protocol layer 3G/4G/5G knowledge – RRC/RLC/MAC/PHY/GTP/PDCP
  • MS Office Suite (Competent User)
  • Excel, Word & PowerPoint (High Competence)
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Numerate with good reporting and writing skills
